Gov M. Jodi Rell announced Nov. 25 $10.2 million in grants to help purchase or preserve approximately 2,440 acres of open space in 29 cities and towns across Connecticut. Money for the 33 grants comes from previously approved bond funds.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced Aug. 28 that the state's investigation into the loss of confidential data of more than 500,000 Connecticut residents by the Bank of New York Mellon Corp. has revealed that the security breach is much broader than first reported.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell is encouraging increased local efforts to raise awareness among residents to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites. The Governor's recommendations are in response to the presence of West Nile virus-infected mosquitoes in Connecticut.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced July 3 the launch of "Connecticut - Your Staycation Destination" - a summer program offering discounts for Connecticut residents at more than 300 attractions showcased throughout the state.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell urged consumers May 30 to be aware that some gasoline stations are offering discounts for purchases made with cash as opposed to credit cards, and to watch carefully the prices they pay and the pumps they use.
